Week ended July 10, 2010:
Lebron James showed the world that loyalty in sports is a fictional concept as he accepted a deal to join buddies Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh to play for the Miami Heat. (ESPN).
The news was not taken well by the entire sports world that is outside of the city of Miami, but the most significant response was not the Cavs fans burning Lebron jersey’s but the Cavs owner, Dan Gilbert, burning a bridge he will never be able to rebuild with his open letter throwing Lebron under the bus. (Cavs Official Site)
While the sports news involving Lebron was the most significant celebrity news of the week, there was certainly plenty of fireworks elsewhere. Mel Gibson was caught losing his racist mind on girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. Hear the Mel Gibson racist tirade HERE (please be warned that this video contains very vulgar language). (IDONTLIKEYOUINTHATWAY)
Mel Gibson was not the only Hollywood star to have a bad week. Lindsay Lohan had the culminating event of all of her irresponsibile behavior and reckless disregard for reality occur this week as she was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 90 days of rehab. (ABC NEWS)
The Fun with Lindsay this week did not stop there. Following her court appearance photos emerged of the “not so respectful” message Lindsay had written on her finger nail while sitting in court. (KTLA News)
In yet another shocking move, since it was her lawyer’s fault that she is a totally out of control drug addict who does stupid things, Lindsay drove her lawyer to resign and is not shopping for a new lawyer. (Examiner)
Besides Lebron, Mel and Lindsay, the rest of the celebrity news this week was fairly tame:
Serena Williams won wimbeldon for the fourth time in her career. (WSJ)- Levi Johnson apologized to the Palin family for being such an ass. Blaming it on “youthful indiscretion.” (People)
- Beatles legend Ringo Starr celebrated his 70th birthday in “peace”. (Daily Mail)
- Zoe Saldana was named as the new face of Calvin Klein, replacing Eva Mendez. (Terra)
- The blockbuster hit Avatar is being re-released this August with 8 additional minutes of action packed footage. (TheCelebrityCafe)
Tune in next Sunday to catch up with all the latest in the world known as Celebrity.

Great recap of celebrity happenings. The Lindsay and Mel stories are so sad. So much is caused by substance abuse in Hollywood.
Thanks for an honest and truthful post, the like of which is surprisingly rare and all the more valuable for it. Regards, John.
