Luca Chips A Tooth

You know what they say, “Boys will be boys.”  I guess so, but nothing breaks a mother’s heart like hearing her 3 year old tell her that he is no longer handsome because of his chipped front tooth.  So, off to the dentist we went to see what could be done.  This was Luca’s first trip to the dentist so I didn’t know what to expect.  Would he sit still?  Would he refuse to open his mouth?  Would he try to touch all of the buttons on the dental chair in an attempt to get it to “blast off?”

Luckily, Luca was very focused on getting his tooth repaired so he followed all of the dentist’s instructions with perfect precision.  He even sat still for a dental x-ray!  The good news – The x-ray revealed that the nerve hadn’t been hit so that means that Luca shouldn’t be feeling any pain once his bruised lip heals.  The bad news – not much can be done to repair the chipped tooth.  I guess we’ll just have to wait a few more years until that baby tooth falls out.   Luca, you will always be handsome to me… but … I heard the tooth fairy only pays half price for broken teeth.  :)
